Congratulations to Canadiens' rookie Brendan Gallagher on being named a finalist for the Calder Trophy, given to the NHL's top rookie. Gallagher had 15 goals and 13 assists in the regular season.

The trophy is awarded to the player that 'exhibits the best type of sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct combined with a high standard of playing ability'. Kane had 23 goals, 32 assists and a team high 55 assists. He also had just eight penalty minutes this season despite averaging 20:03 of ice time per game.
