Winter Classic Headed to Fenway

The NHL made what had been rumored for a while official on Wednesday when they announced that the Flyers and Bruins will take part in the Winter Classic at Fenway Park.

"A unique event deserves a unique venue, and we are delighted the Bruins and Flyers will renew their rivalry with the 'Green Monster' providing the backdrop," NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman said.

The game will take place on January 1st, 2010 and will be aired on NBC and will be the fourth NHL outdoor game this decade.

The latest Winter Classic took place last New Year's Day in Chicago when the Blackhawks and Red Wings took the ice at historic Wrigley Field.

Bauer will be well represented in the game at Fenway, as Mike Richards, Jeff Carter, Simon Gagne, Tim Thomas, Phil Kessel, Milan Lucic, Andrew Ferrence and others will be taking the ice.
