A new chapter has been written in the story of the Staal brothers. On the first night of the NHL Draft, the biggest news was that Jordan Staal had been traded to the Carolina Hurricanes where he will play with his older brother, Eric.
Jordan found out about the trade shortly after getting married in his hometown of Thunder Bay, ON. "It's not too often just to have brothers in the NHL, but to play alongside one is a very special thing," said Jordan. "It's a very exciting time for myself and Eric and our family...It's going to be a very neat time in my career."
Check out the video below to listen to Eric's reaction to the trade and how excited the family is to have two brothers playing together.
Today marks another exciting moment in the history of Bauer Hockey as we launch the BAUER NEXUS family of products. This launch is much more than simply a product launch – it is a full line of equipment that offers a whole new fit for those players who have been unable to wear BAUER equipment in the past.
The new NEXUS family, which includes a full line of skates, sticks and under protective, was created as a direct result of input from some of the best players in the world.
The NEXUS line combines classic fit and styling with state-of-the-art technological advancements that have become synonymous with Bauer Hockey's products. The NEXUS line of skates offers a wider fit than both VAPOR or SUPREME, the stick line offers a unique flex profile and the under protective provides a more traditional profile that many consumers demand.
The NEXUS launch is without a doubt a game-changing moment for hockey players at all levels. Click on the image below to go to the NEXUS FEATURE and learn even more about the new products!
The NEXUS family of skates completes BAUER's 3-Family Fit Story by offering a wider fit to accomodate a broader range of players. Because NEXUS has a softer feel, players will experience an "easy load" for maximum energy transfer and extremely fast acceleration. NEXUS' time-honored look fused with a modern technology connects BAUER's heritage and tradition with today's adnvacements in performance technology.
The NEXUS family of sticks completes BAUER's 3-Family Fit Story by offering a third flex profile to accommodate the shooting styles of a broader ranger of players. NEXUS has a TRU-Mid flex profile, created by a stiffer middle portion with softer handle and hosel areas. The result is a stick with a quick release and a very natural feel. NEXUS connects tradition with innovation with a feel similar to wood, but with the energy-enhancing recoil benefits of composite.
The NEXUS family of under protective completes BAUER's 3-Family Fit story by offering a wider, more traditional fit to accommodate a broader ranger of players. NEXUS under protective is BAUER's most protective family, providing superior impact protection. The predominantly white, subtle graphics and a simplistic design put a tradtional look on the innovative performance technologies.

Los Angeles and New Jersey Choose Bauer Equipment in Quest for Hockey Supremacy
Bauer Hockey was once again the brand of choice by the game's best players this season and as Los Angeles and New Jersey battle it out for this year's title, BAUER is once again the dominant choice in the Finals.
In the five major player equipment categories of sticks, skates, gloves, helmets and pants, Bauer Hockey is the overwhelming brand of choice. In total, 35 of the 37 skaters that have played in the Finals use at least one piece of Bauer equipment, including all 19 of the Kings who have suited up for at least one game.
An impressive 86 percent of all skaters (32 of 37) in the Finals wear BAUER skates, while the next closest brand has just three players in its skates (8%). BAUER is also once again the top stick used in the Finals as nearly half (46%) of all players use BAUER. BAUER is also the top helmet (51%), glove (46%) and pant (57%) used in the Finals.
"For the past several years, we have been the dominant brand choice during the regular season and even more so when it's all on the line during the postseason," said Kevin Davis, President and CEO of Bauer Performance Sports, the parent company of Bauer Hockey. "The fact that so many of the game's best players choose BAUER during the most important time of the year is a testament to our never-ending commitment to innovation and developing the highest-performing products in the marketplace. This time of year is always exciting and it's even more exciting for us as a company to see us once again chosen as the top brand in hockey."
Jeff Carter scored what he said to be the biggest goal of his career when he ripped home the overtime game winning goal in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals.
