Practice of a Lifetime

Luke Schenn of the Toronto Maple Leafs made a dream come true recently when he ran a practice for Owen Clarke and his teammates.

Clarke won the prize of having Schenn come to his team's practice by entering into the "Practice of a Lifetime" sweepstakes through Bauer Hockey and Play It Again Sports. Check out the video below to see how the practice went and what advice Luke had to offer the players. Enjoy.

Seguin Q & A

Kessel Q & A

Lundqvist Q & A

Next up for the Bauer Athlete Q & A is New York Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist. Lundqvist was once again a workhorse between the pipes for the Rangers as he started 72 games last season. By winning 35 games last year he became the only goalie in NHL history to post 30-or-more wins in each of his first five seasons, and the first Rangers goaltender in team history to post five straight 30-win seasons.

Right now I love the BBQ pork ribs at Houston's in NY City.

Ryan Kesler Q & A

TOP NHL PROSPECT TYLER SEGUIN JOINS BAUER HOCKEY FAMILY

TORONTO – June 22, 2010 – Bauer Hockey, Inc. today announced that top NHL Prospect Tyler Seguin has joined its roster of athletes, becoming the latest in a long line of top young standouts to align with the world's leading designer and manufacturer of hockey equipment. Seguin will exclusively wear Bauer equipment on ice during the 2010-2011 NHL season and will work closely with Bauer's product development team to provide insight and feedback into future product direction.

Ranked as the top North American Skater by NHL Central Scouting, the 6-1, 180-pound center is expected to be one of the first two players selected in Friday's NHL Entry Draft in Los Angeles.

"When you think of hockey, you think of Bauer and it's exciting to be part of the Bauer Hockey family," Seguin said. "To be included alongside some of the great players that are part of the Bauer roster is unbelievable. I'm really looking forward to working with the entire Bauer team in the future."

This season, Seguin led all scorers in the Ontario Hockey League, registering 48 goals and 58 assists for 106 points in 63 games for the Plymouth Whalers. In addition to tying for the CHL scoring title, Seguin took home the Red Tilson Trophy as the most outstanding players in the OHL and was the recipient of the CHL Top Draft Prospect Award given annually to the top eligible prospect for the NHL Entry Draft.

"Tyler is obviously one of the top young players in the world, but more importantly, he is a player that embodies everything that has made Bauer the No.1 brand in hockey," said Kevin Davis, President and CEO, Bauer Hockey. "He's a hard working player who has demonstrated a dedication and commitment to the sport. Seguin, who will be featured in Bauer Hockey's global marketing efforts, joins other elite players on Bauer's roster including Patrick Kane, Steven Stamkos, Nic Backstrom, Mike Richards, Henrik Lundquist, Eric Staal and Jordan Staal, to name just a few.

Niedermayer Retires

Bauer Hockey would like congratulate Scott Niedermayer on an amazing hockey career and on his recent retirement.

Niedermayer decided to hang up the skates on Tuesday after 18 NHL seasons and will go down in history as one of the best defenseman to ever play the game.

A winner wherever he played, Niedermayer is the only hockey player in the world to win the Stanley Cup, Olympic gold, the World Championship, World Junior Championship, the World Cup and the Memorial Cup.

"I could not have dreamed of such an amazing journey," Niedermayer said. "I wouldn't have believed it if someone told me this is going to be your career. I've been very lucky."

Forever known for his strong and smooth skating stride, Niedermayer ends his career with 4 Stanley Cups to his name, along with a Norris Trophy as the league's top defenseman. Bauer is proud to have been a part of Niedermayer's career and wishes him all the best with his retirement.
