Ovechkin Wins Hart Trophy!
Congratulations to Alex Ovechkin on winning the 2013 Hart Trophy! The Hart Trophy is given out each year to the "player adjudged to be the most valuable to his team."
Ovechkin had a league high 32 goals this season, along with 24 assists for a team high 56 points.
In his final 29 games, Ovechkin had 22 goals and 41 points, and helped the Capitals go 20-7-2 to reach the postseason.
Toews Wins Selke Trophy!
Congratulations to Jonathan Toews on winning the 2013 Selke Trophy! The Selke Trophy is awarded to the NHL's top defensive forward as voted by the Professional Hockey Writers Association.
Toews had 23 goals, 25 assists and 48 points this season. He also finished the season tied for the league lead with 56 takeaways and had a +28 rating.
