The challenge to BAUER’s Senior Advanced Development Team was clear: Create a VAPOR skate that outperforms anything before it. And so the team set about fusing decades of VAPOR innovation with all-new materials, processes and thinking. Nearly two years of research, design and prototyping later—the VAPOR APX was born. Not only is it the lightest VAPOR skate ever, it’s a whole new kind of skate created to help you reach a whole new level of play.

Building the VAPOR APX proved to be the most technical part of the process. Mostly because the materials and construction techniques our Senior Advanced Development Team knew the skate needed, simply didn’t exist. And so technologies like the Curv® composite quarter, for more stability in high-speed cornering, were implemented. Then we cut the angle of the boot more aggressively and improved the VAPOR X-Rib design so players are always in a position to accelerate faster and corner quicker. Separately, these innovations advance the skate. Together, they work in perfect harmony to help you change the game.

Tested for flex. Tested for impact absorption. Tested for moisture-wicking. Tested for durability. Fact is, there’s very little our Senior Advanced Development Team didn’t do to test the APX. And to make sure it met the standards of game-changers at every level, they engaged with youth players and NHL® stars alike to gain their perspectives on where the skate was heading.
